Welcome everyone and excited to say that this will be the first of many articles about this topic on DailyFantasy305. Real excited to have the opportunity so to cut to the chase, he are todays’s top fades and pivots.
David Lee ($5,400 FD / $5,200 DK): With LaMarcus Aldridge ruled out for tonight, I expect David Lee to be a popular choice, especially with Pau Gasol still on the shelf. But Lee has only been playing around 21-29 minutes per game over his last five and he’s still priced up from his initial outburst where he scored over 30 fantasy points in consecutive games two weeks ago while playing a season high 33 and 36 minutes. Lee may see a couple extra minutes, but I expect the bulk of LMA’s minutes to be spread out between Dewayne Dedmon and Davis Bertans, and could see Joel Anthony even picking up a couple minutes. I think both Dedmon and Bertans make interesting GPP picks, but the main guy
I’m looking to pivot to is Ersan Ilyasova ($5,700 FD / $5,400 DK) in the same game. Joel Embiid and Robert Covington are already ruled out for tonight and Ersan has been a steady producer for Philly since being acquired early in the season, and we’ve seen him be able to get hot and reach 40 and 50 fantasy points with Embiid out. While I still expect Ersan to be popular, he represents a nice high-floor, high ceiling pivot off Lee.
Ivica Zubac ($4,700 FD / $3,900 DK): This Lakers rookie has garnered a lot of attention the past week due to recent performance and Luke Walton has stated he wants to get the guy more playing time, but we can never trust Walton’s rotations and the minutes have declined from 28 to 26 to 21 over the last three games. Plus, with Larry Nance returning to the lineup and Julius Randle’s status up in the air, Zubac’s minutes seem less secure. While I think Zubac is in play, especially on DraftKings, there are some potential pivots worth mentioning if you want to avoid the risk.
One such player is JaVale McGee, who is min-price on both sites. He should be starting for Zaza, who is injured, and while I don’t expect he’ll get more than 20 minutes, he is a fantasy-per-minute producer who can hit 6x-7x in his limited time on the court. Dewayne Dedmon is another punt option I mentioned earlier that profiles similarly to McGee.
