After a weak 3-game slate on FanDuel yesterday, I don’t think you can find a person who is more excited and confident about today’s 12 game slate than I am. Couple of things to note that make a huge impact on tonight’s slate are 1) The news on who’s starting for the Kings, 2) If Jimmy Butler is ruled out (EDIT: He is OUT), and 3) if Klay Thompson, Kenneth Faried will be available to play tonight. Besides that, a lot of research has been done ahead of time and with this article I will look to apply all the research I have put into the past couple of hours. Let’s get into it!

Point Guard

Goran Dragic |$8,200|/ Tyler Johnson |$5,600|@ MIL

Gonna start off the article with the two guards I’m most confident about tonight’s slate. Without a doubt, both Dragic and Johnson will be forced to show up in tonight’s matchup in Milwaukee. Currently riding a 11 winning-steak, the Miami Heat have shocked the entire NBA with the trio of Goran Dragic, Dion Waiters, and Hassan Whiteside leading the team. News just broke earlier that Waiters is doubtful tonight and while Dragic has been playing out of his mind recently, his value/usage/production will be taking a big boost without Waiters. Who’s gonna benefit also without Waiters? Enter Tyler Johnson. Sure, he doesn’t start and is always a risk, but he will definitely see a minute uptick in tonight’s matchup. Knowing both Dragic’s  and Johnson’s  playing style, they prefer attacking the rim over shooting and that shouldn’t bother them tonight as they will be attacking a shared front-court of John Henson and Greg Monroe. I can assure you both will be low owned, but my advice to target them is Johnoson in Cash and Dragic in GPP’s.

Dennis Schroder |$6,200| vs DEN

Dennis Schroder looks like another sneaky play to target in tonight’s jumbo slate. A couple of things are in his favor tonight apart from other nights. First of all, this will be a pace-up matchup with the O/U currently set at 223. What that means? More possessions. Sure, he’s been very inconsistent in his past games, but he is going against a depleted Nuggets team without Emanual Mudiay that ranks 29th in guarding opposing PG’s. I think this is definitely a spot to target Schroder as you will get rewarded tonight. As for exposure, he’s more of a GPP play rather than a cash game play because he still does provide some risk.

Also Consider: Jeff Teague, Kyrie Irving, Ricky Rubio, Mike Conley, Michael Carter-Williams, Darren Collison

Shooting Guard

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope |$5,300| vs LAL

I’m gonna start off with the statement right away that the Shooting Guard position tonight is terrible compared to the other positions. Don’t get me wrong, I have been burned many times by the volatile guard in the past, but tonight a lot of things are in his favor for him to provide a must-needed upside and value for his position. First of all, he will be playing against Nick Young defense, and if you don’t know how he plays just know he’s a very lazy defender. Next, this game will be at home with a spread of -7 and an O/U at 218. In the end of the day, at just 5K, you are targeting a player who will be going against one of the worst defenses in the league and with that being said he’s a safe play in all formats tonight.

Tim Hardaway Jr |$5,700| vs DEN

With the news that Hawks Forward Thabo Sefalosha will be ruled out tonight, Tim Hardaway Jr will have another shot in the starting lineup to light it up tonight against the Denver Nuggets. Like mentioned with Dennis Schroder, the O/U for this game is the highest on the slate and the spread is only at -3 meaning that this game will be close and high scoring. To say that Hardaway Jr. has benefited from the minutes uptick he’s been having lately is definitely an understatement. Hardaway Jr. has been playing out of his mind, and like Dion Waiters, he is without a doubt the hottest guard in the league right now. Yes, the price has in fact caught up to his recent production, but don’t let that scare you away from rostering him tonight. Like Caldwell-Pope he makes for a safe cash game target for tonight’s very bad Shooting Guard position.

Also Consider: Dwyane Wade (If Playing), Klay Thompson (If Wade Plays), Bradley Beal, Will Barton (If Starting), & Jamal Crawford

Small Forward

Wilson Chandler |$6,000| @ ATL

Like the Shooting Guard position, this position as well looks to be pretty weak. Only a couple of safe plays stick out to me while the rest are high risk/high reward. With Wilson Chandler, you are getting one of the safest plays tonight across the entire industry. Thabo Sefalosha being ruled out may not seem like a big deal for the average person, but for Wilson Chandler this means he will not be going against an elite defender tonight as he will be probably matched up with Tim Hardaway Jr. (average defender). Another thing working his way is that Danilo Gallinari will not be suiting up tonight and will be asked to carry the offense more than before. Not much else to explain here, it seems like a “gimme” play here. A bit underpriced, making him the perfect play to target at the SF position tonight.

Matt Barnes |$5,200| vs BOS

The second obvious and safe play of the night on the for the SF position is Matt Barnes. Yes, his price did rise $1,600 from the other night he played, but I’m not arguing, it deserved to be. I’ve been burned in the past by not playing Barnes, but I’m definietly not going to make that mistake tonight. The Kings will be without Rudy Gay and DeMarcus Cousins tonight, and they will need to rely on the next man up to lead the offense. Now, I’m not saying Barnes is the leader of the team without them on the court, but I will say that he will definietly benefit the most. With Boston being one of the league’s worst rebounding team, Barnes will definetly be padding his stats with rebounds as well as points in tonight’s matchup. All he needs is 26 FanDuel points to reach value but the last couple of game he’s reached that and some. Safely said, aside from him getting into unfortunate foul trouble, he is as safe of a play you can get tonight.

Also Consider: Gordon Hayward, Paul George,  TJ Warren, & Brandon Ingram

Power Forward

Blake Griffin |$9,400| @ NY

Ok, now THIS is the position to spend up on tonight. No other play to spotlight on this position than tonight’s CORE player, Blake Griffin. It’s been some time since I got myself comfortable to roster him coming back from his injury, but without Chris Paul on the court and him inheriting a great assist rate of 32%, he really catches my eye tonight. Yes, I believe people will be all of him because of his triple-double last game and of recency-bias, but that’s not the reason why I am on him tonight. Playing in the Garden, Griffin will be showcasing his dominance at the PF spot as he’s going against a Knicks team that sits at 28th in guarding opposing PF. Griffin doesn’t just score and rebound like most PF’s do, he offer’s play-making abilities that make him stand out from the rest of the Forwards in tonight’s slate. His usage rate is ridiculous without Chris Paul and I’m rostering him in everything with confidence.

Willie Cauley-Stein |$4,600| vs BOS

Wrote something about him earlier, but decided to delete everything after seeing what SplashBrosDFS wrote about him in the “Must-Have” article. I agree with everything, so there is nothing to say from me here. Check it out!

Also Consider: Nikola Jokic, Kevin Love, Paul Millsap, Trevor Booker, Derrick Favors JaMychel Green (Elite GPP Play if minutes are there), & Larry Nance (Pending Randle’s status)

Center

Andre Drummond |$8,300| vs LAL

Gonna make this one short and sweet, Drummond will be matched up at home in a close spread game against Timothy Mozgov or Tarik Black. Yup, Drummond is gonna be eating tonight agains the 29th worst defense. His price has got to the point where he is no longer underpriced, but if you come to spot where you decide to pay up, Drummond makes the best case as far a point per $. It’s really hard not to love this matchup as Drummond will be seeing a ton of missed shots combined with offensive rebounds and a lot of opportunities to score in the paint from each position. His price is well worth it and I’m predicting another one of Drummond’s famous 20/20 game’s tonight. Book it.

 Dewayne Dedmon |$3,800| @ PHI

The return of Dewayne Dedmon awaits Philly tonight. With Joel Embiid being ruled out again tonight, like every night he is, I will look to target any big men that has the fortune of playing them that specific night. You may remember Dedmon’s 30 FDP game last time he faced them, put that was without LaMarcus Aldridge sharing the court with him. With that being said, I’m most likely not expecting another 30 burger for him tonight with him sharing the court with Aldridge, but if he does start he makes for one hell of a case to punt down for. I’m gonna wait to see what the Spurs are going to do before I put a lot of exposure his way, but as for now, he will be inserted in a couple of my GPP lineups that’s for sure. The 76er’s interior defense without Embiid seems to be a gold mine for opposing centers, so its hard for one not to like Dedmon tonight especially as a punt play.

Also Consider: Kosta Koufos (Foul Prone/High Upside Player), Karl-Anthony Towns, Marcin Gortat, Jonas Valanciunas, & Al Horford.

That’s all I got for tonight’s huge slate, but be sure to check out the other articles on this site while you are already on it. Also, make sure to follow me @Fanduel_Bomb for Questions/Concerns/ and Updates.
