First of all, I’m happy to be writing for Daily Fantasy 305! We’ve assembled a great team that I’m excited to join and help provide some insight. Today, I will be writing about some sleepers I think could be under owned to help you win a GPP or give you a bump in cash if you want to take the risk. Also, I will provide the “Game to Stack” in my opinion. I won’t always be writing about the same topics, so if there are any other topics you’d like me to touch on, please let me know! Let’s get started…
**Disclaimer: These sleepers are players I think can/will perform well and be lower owned than others around their price and position. Some will be riskier than others and some may be more obvious plays than others.**
Jrue Holiday, NO ($8,300): GPP and Cash Sleeper
The first player I would like to touch on is Jrue Holiday. I feel like he is always slept on with Anthony Davis on the team. Don’t get me wrong, AD deserves the recognition he gets, but Jrue is no slouch by any means. He has gone well over 5x value in 3 of the last 4 and the one he missed was against Utah. As you know, PHX always plays in high paced games and this makes for a tasty match up tonight. A week ago, Jrue put up 55.3 FD points against PHX and I’m expecting a similar game from him tonight.
Tony Allen, MEM ($4,900): GPP and Cash Sleeper
Allen might not be as much of a sleeper tonight as I think he will be, but personally, $4,900 is a little bit higher than I’d like to pay for Tony. That being said, he’s gone at least 5x value in the last 3 games he’s played and tonight the Grizz play @ BKN. That should be all that needs to be said. A solid player like Allen against the young, awful Nets. He WILL be locked in some GPP lines, if not my cash line even.
Mirza Teletovic, MIL ($4,000): GPP ONLY Sleeper
As a Bucks fan, I am disappointed to have to write about Mirza being a sleeper but he very well could be. Our beloved Jabari is out for the year, and while Giannis certainly does everything he can, he still need that shooter to help us. Insert Teletovic. He is a very risky play, 1) Kidd is horrible with rotations so you never know how much he’ll play, and 2) He’s only good for scoring real points. In the last 20 games, he’s only had over 3 boards ONE time and don’t even think about getting assists from him. He’s in the game to shoot and score, and if he does that, he can get you 20-25 FD points and exceed value. He’s a big question mark but considering inserting him into a GPP lineup.
Marco Belinelli, CHA ($4,000): GPP ONLY Sleeper
Basically same thing goes for Belinelli as did for Mirza. If he scores you points, he’s great. If he doesn’t, he’s basically just running around on the court. Marco does have a matchup tonight vs PHI which helps him a little bit and he does see more consistent minutes than Mirza. You could almost consider Marco a cash option because I’m not too in love with the SF options tonight but it’s still a risk. Tread lightly with both of these guys but they could have a nice impact if you like to take risks.
Paul Millsap, ATL ($8,000): GPP and Cash Sleeper
Some people might not feel like Millsap is a sleeper, but I feel he is at that price. $8,000 is a little higher than I like but he can definitely get you 40 FD points especially in a match up with the Blazers. He’s been right around 5x value the last 2 games and that should be the case tonight again vs the Blazers who play zero defense on PF’s. With Brow, Jokic, Frank the Tank and a Klay-less Draymond on the slate tonight, I think Millsap will be very under owned tonight and could help you make that late cash or GPP push being the late game.
Ed Davis/Meyers Leonard, POR ($3,500): GPP ONLY Sleepers
As you know, Plumlee got traded to Denver for a sack of basketballs, and those said balls (Nurkic) are not expected to play tonight. Now, these guys are a risk for sure especially being the late game since we most likely won’t have any lineup news. One or both of these guys are going to have to step into the C position, however they’re both listed at PF on FanDuel which sucks. Look for news on these boys later towards lock and insert accordingly into your GPP lines for a possible very low owned diamond in the rough.
*UPDATE (3:20PM CT)* Meyers Leonard is now listed as the probable starter for tonight’s game. This makes him a little bit better of a play than Ed Davis, however, Leonard will be going up against Dwight Howard. I suspect Howard would eat him up but Leonard isn’t an awful player. Ed Davis should still see solid minutes as the primary backup tonight. Meyers is a better play I think as a sleeper in GPP, but they do both still have potential! PF is stacked tonight and by far the strongest position.
Greg Monroe, MIL ($5,800): GPP and Risky Cash Sleeper
The Bucks are back in town tonight and Moose squares off against his former team. Any Buck outside of Giannis is a risky play because, again, Jason Kidd can’t figure out how to coach a team and keep a rotation. If Moose gets at least 25 minutes, I almost guarantee he’ll hit 30 FD points at least. That’s the big question however. Against his former team, Moose always seems to come out to play. When they faced off earlier in the season, I was at the game and he was killing Drummond in the post to the tune of 33 FP points when his price was much lower. Anytime I roster Monroe, his percentage owned is ALWAYS less than 5%. This could be a make or break play, definitely more of a GPP play, but I might have enough faith in him to take the risk in cash games.
Game to Stack:
Warriors vs. Nuggets, O/U 238, GS -11
If you’re looking for any game to target, this game is clearly and obviously the one to do so. This is by far the highest projected total tonight, but like all other GS games, will it stay close to get everyone their allotted minutes? The spread is only -11 right now and the Nuggets really aren’t that horrible of a team. With Klay being announced out already, Steph gets the biggest boost, followed by KD and Draymond. The Nuggets also have solid options in Jokic, Jameer Nelson, Will Barton, and Wilson Chandler (if he plays). You should have some exposure to this game in both formats because it will be high paced and a lot of stat stuffing potential. It’s up to you to pick who fits well into your lineups from this game but there are a variety of options!
Thank you to everyone who took the time to read this and hopefully these plays can help you take down a GPP or some cash games!
