Tonight we have an unattractive 3-game slate sandwiched between an 11-game slate from yesterday and a massive 14-gamer tomorrow. There are a handful of players tonight that are going to be mega chalky. I’m going to briefly highlight a couple situations that I think have viable high-upside pivots for GPP play only.
Darren Collison ($5,700 FD): He’ll be the highest owned player on the slate given his recent performance and the fact that FanDuel refuses to raise his price (he’s $7,100 on DK). He has a great matchup on paper, but on any given night, this type of play can bust, and we’ve seen that a lot recently (a la Steph Curry last night).
D’Angelo Russell ($5,900 FD): Has 40+ fantasy point upside. The biggest question here, as always, is the minutes. The matchup is great and if the minutes are there he could exceed Collison in raw points, at a much lower ownership.
Channing Frye ($4,600 FD): Another very chalky play. Expected to start for the injured Kevin Love. Frye has played well in prior spot starts. He likely won’t play more than 25 minutes and is usually reliant on his 3-point shot so if that isn’t falling, he could underperform.
Larry Nance ($4,300 FD): Will be much lower owned than Frye primarily due to Nance coming off the bench and the inconsistency in minutes. Similar to Russell we never know if he’ll get 18 minutes or 30 minutes. He’s shown 30+ fantasy point upside and if Randle gets into foul trouble guarding Boogie then Nance could shoot up toward the 30 minute mark and show his upside.
