Hey guys @JustinD_305 here! For those who don’t know, I will be working with FanDuel Bomb and DailyFantasy305 this NFL season. Who doesn’t like bold predictions? I plan on keeping these one’s short and straight to the point. Getting right to it, here’s a list of 4 bold predictions for NFL week 1

1. Ravens RB Alex Collins has 2 touchdowns and 145 total scrimmage yards vs the Bills (this performance puts him in the perfect FanDuel lineup ).

My reasoning: I expect the Ravens to dominate this game vs the Bills who I frankly think will be the worst team in the NFL this season. The Ravens defense should force plenty of 3 and outs in this one setting up the Ravens offense to dominate in time of possession. By halftime, I expect the Ravens to be up double digits and then just ground and pound throughout the 2nd half. The Ravens are a -8.5 favorite at home going into this one… get some exposure to Alex Collins in DFS week 1!

2. The Cleveland Browns will beat the Steelers week 1 and no one on the Steelers will hit DFS value. (DEEP DIVE)

My reasoning:  This is the boldest one. Weather conditions are the first thing to take note of. 5+ inches of rain and locally 7+ inches is what I gathered when looking at the data and not only that, but there will be high wind conditions. Why do I mention this? Because it’s a downgrade to QB’s, WR’s, and Kickers.

Focusing on the run game for the Steelers first, according to pro-football-reference, the Browns gave up the 7th fewest rushing yards to opposing backs last year. For a team who went 0-16, that is a very unexpected stat plus they now have a completely different and stronger roster. On FanDuel, James Conner is coming in at a 5k price tag which is almost the cheapest possible so I understand why people will just plug him into their cash game lineups and move on. However, I will be fully fading him in most GPP contests and wouldn’t be against not playing him in cash games if you don’t feel comfortable in going that route. I expect Conner to have plenty of opportunities in this game but I just don’t think the success will be there.

Along with Conner, I will have no interest in any of the Steelers receivers Week 1. Over Ben Roethlisberger’s career, and especially over the last few years of his career, he has struggled mightily on the road compared to his success playing at Heinz Field. Adding high winds and extreme weather conditions to the that, I passionately think we see a bad opening game out of Big Ben and this entire Steelers team on Sunday. The Browns will come into this divisional matchup at home and pumped up having something to prove!

3. Jordan Reed finishes as a Top 3 Tight End Week 1.

My reasoning: I know this is very bold but I have high expectations for Jordan Reed coming into the season. First of all, all reports are saying that he’s fully healthy. All fantasy footballers that have played the game for a while can agree that when we see a fully healthy Jordan Reed, we see a dominant player who puts up big numbers. Alex Smith loves targeting the Tight End position as we saw last year with Travis Kelce. Someone on this Redskins offense is going to have an amazing season and my number one candidate would be this guy especially against a below average Cardinals defense!

4. Patrick Mahomes finishes the week as a top 5 QB.

My reasoning: Mahomes faces off the season on the road vs the San Diego Chargers. The San Diego Chargers are going to be playing in this one without DE Joey Bosa. This is a big boost to Mahomes as he should see less pressure inside and outside the pocket. I see this game turning into one of the highest scoring games of the week. I can see Mahomes throwing for 260 yards with 3 TD’s along with 1 INT.
