After going 0-4 on last weeks article, I’m too embarrassed to even recap so let’s just move on and look at week 15! With the season sadly coming to an end, let’s get even bolder this week. Go Bold or go home mentality. With that being said, let’s get straight to it.
Aaron Rodgers fails to record a single touchdown against the Chicago Bears:
I know, I know, you don’t think its a bold prediction because the Bears held the entire Los Angeles Rams offense scoreless, but Aaron Rodgers is a different breed. He is arguably one of the most talented QBs of all time. It’s not that I don’t have confidence in Aaron Rodgers this week, it’s the fact that this Chicago Bears defense is one of the best units that I have ever seen play. The Bears defense has 168 fantasy points, no other defense has over 125 fantasy points. Quite remarkable I know. The Bears are averaging 13 fantasy points per game, no other team is averaging 9.5. Catch my drift? all that pressure they have on defense, the Packers simply have no answer.
Joe Mixon is a top-7 RB this week against the Oakland Raiders:
But Dylan, Mixon is in a timeshare with Giovani Bernard. Oh? is that why Mixon had 31 touches last week compared to 5 for Bernard? sips tea. Anyway, Mixon has been the anchor for the Cincinnati Bengals all year and he’s been getting zero credit in the fantasy community. in 11 games he’s played this year, Mixon has 1,109 total yards and 7 touchdowns. Not bad huh? well, this weeks matchup against the Oakland Raiders is going to help pad them stats even more. The Raiders allow 122.9 rushing yards per game on average which is just insane to think about. It’s also worth mentioning that Mixon has 15 targets in the 3 games with Jeff Driskel under center which always helps. He is going to shred the Raiders, no doubt in my mind.
Tyler Lockett doesn’t score a touchdown this week against the San Francisco 49ers:
Although for a casual football fan, this doesn’t seem all that bold does it? It’s crazy to think that Lockett has 9 touchdowns this year. Last time he played the Niners this season, he finished with 2/54/1 so that’s not helping my case. Regardless, The Seahawks don’t pass a lot and Wilson has to distribute passes to Doug Baldwin, David Moore, Nick Vannett, and obviously Lockett. In a typical NFC West game, you normally see a low scoring, run first games, so this game script doesn’t match the skill set of Lockett.
Juju Smith-Schuster is a top-5 WR this weekend against the New England Patriots:
Everything about this week screams for a good week from the 2nd year WR. The Pittsburgh Steelers are at home which means Ben Roethlisberger is allowed to have a good game. The New England Patriots typically gameplan, and attempt to take away the opposing teams top playmaker, which this week is Antonio Brown. It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if the Patriots put Stephon Gillmore and a safety on Brown throughout the majority of the game. We can’t ignore the fact that Smith-Schuster has 2 29+ point fantasy games in the last 3 games. He should get 8+ targets in what should be a shootout.
